Somopportunity is pleased to announce the launch of the Professional Ambassadors Program, an academically-oriented and volunteer-driven initiative that aims to connect qualified Somali professionals, educators, and university students with a platform for advancing youth development through mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and digital outreach. This program invites individuals with a commitment to public service, education, and youth empowerment to apply for an opportunity to serve as Professional Ambassadors for a term-based engagement. Ambassadors will actively contribute to the dissemination of academic and professional resources, facilitation of virtual workshops, and development of educational content.

To enhance access to educational and professional development opportunities for Somali youth globally.
To promote a culture of mentorship, skill-building, and community leadership.
To support digital inclusion through the creation and sharing of reliable, high-impact content.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Be of Somali origin, residing locally or in the diaspora.
Hold a university degree or be enrolled in the final year of a graduate program.
Demonstrate proficiency in English (both spoken and written); proficiency in Somali is desirable.
Possess relevant experience in teaching, mentoring, public speaking, writing, or community organizing.
Be able to commit a minimum of 2 hours per month for virtual meetings, content development, or event participation.
🛠️ Roles & Responsibilities
Professional Ambassadors will be expected to:
Facilitate Online Workshops & Seminars
– Lead or co-lead virtual sessions in areas such as career development, academic skills, digital literacy, or youth leadership.Produce Educational Content
– Contribute original blogs, essays, toolkits, or informational graphics for Somopportunity digital platforms.Mentorship & Coaching
– Engage in small-group or one-on-one mentorship programs, providing academic or career guidance to Somali youth.Opportunity Dissemination
– Assist in identifying and sharing verified scholarships, fellowships, and capacity-building opportunities.Collaboration & Reporting
– Maintain regular communication with the Central Committee, follow program guidelines, and provide monthly reports on assigned tasks.
