Call for Climate Skill Global Collaboration Grant is Open Now !!!
About the Opportunity
Summary
The British Council’s Climate Skills Global Collaboration Grants represent a major international initiative designed to strategically tackle the escalating global green skills gap and proactively support a just transition to a low-carbon economy. This comprehensive program, significantly supported by HSBC, focuses on fostering deep-rooted, strategic, and equitable partnerships between educational and training institutions in the UK and five key partner countries—Brazil, India, Indonesia, Mexico, and Viet Nam. These nations face unique and immediate climate challenges. The core mission is to empower young people, aged 18 to 30, with the specialized knowledge, practical skills, and entrepreneurial mindset required to thrive in the future workforce.
Full Details
Eligibility mandates a joint proposal from one lead UK institution (including Higher Education, TVET institutions, training providers, or NGOs) and one lead partner country institution. This requirement underscores the commitment to co-creation, ensuring that the curricula, training models, and resources developed are mutually beneficial, culturally relevant, and aligned with local skills gaps. A crucial, overarching objective of the program is comprehensive capacity strengthening and mutual knowledge exchange. This helps partner organizations build sustainable, long-term educational programming well beyond the grant period, fostering enduring international connections and shared best practices in climate education.
The ultimate and most vital beneficiaries are the young people themselves, who will accelerate their entry into meaningful green jobs and foster the creation of climate-resilient entrepreneurship ventures. By actively working to close the identified skills gap in rapidly emerging green industries, the British Council and its partners aim to cultivate a generation of resilient, skille,d and socially conscious workers who can actively drive sustainable development and innovation on a global scale, making a tangible impact on the climate crisis.
